I am extremely dedicated to creating a safe and kind classroom environment which facilitates fun and engaging learning, alongside the creation of memorable moments. I am currently computing lead. My interest in computing stems from my belief that technology is shaping our children’s future and to excel in future life, they need to know how to navigate such technology safely and effectively. In my free time, I enjoy training with my karate and football team, singing my heart out in the car, baking (although the food often ends up burnt!) and going for long hikes with my family. If you ever have any concerns or worries, please do not hesitate to come and speak to me, my door is always open. |

Mr T BurrellYear 6 Teaching Assistant, OPAL Play Lead and Sports Coach |
Hi everyone, I'm Mr Burrell! I have worked at Lingey House since 2018. I was originally an external sports coach, known to a lot of the children quite simply as Tom. In May 2022 I was offered the chance to join the Lingey House team, taking on the role as a Sports Coach and OPAL play lead. I have an absolute passion for all things sporty; I am thrilled that I was given the opportunity to continue coaching as well as taking on the new role of Opal play lead. This was completely new to me and has definitely been a challenge. However, seeing our children happy and smiling whilst enjoying the freedom to play makes it all worthwhile! Outside of school, you will most likely see me playing football, watching football or talking about football... Howay the lads! The most important thing in my life actually, isn't football but my little family who I love to spend time with and who could forget my crazy little spaniel, Rosie. |

Hello I am Mrs Banks. I am the midday supervisor for school lunches at Lingey House. I have worked in school for 38 years and I love working with the children at Lingey House. I like OPAL because our children have lots to play with and use their imagination to make up their own games and decide what to play with. It allows them to challenge themselves and promotes decision-making. Outside of school, I like walking with my dog and spending time with my family. I also like working in my garden. |
Mrs H BotcherbyPlay Team Member |
Hello everyone, I am Mrs Botcherby. I started working at Lingey House in 2017 as a lunchtime supervisory assistant. In 2022 OPAL was set up and I developed my role becoming a play team member. OPAL has made a big difference to the children and it is lovely to see them trying different activities. I love to see the children dressing up, singing and making up dances. Outside of school I love sewing, crafting and I also like to go and watch marching jazz bands as it was a very big part of my childhood. My family is expanding and I am going to be a Nana for the first time. I am very excited! |

Hi, I'm Miss Huges, and I'm quite new to Lingey House. I joined the school in May this year. Before I joined the school, I worked with tiny babies in a local private nursery. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of such an amazing OPAL team. It is so rewarding to see how happy our children are, mainly when they're thick of mud! I love to see children using their imagination and this is what OPAL is all about. Outside of school I spend my time with my little girl, who is 8. We attend Newcastle matches and we also love to go on exciting adventures together too. |
Mrs M NewbyPlay Team Member |
Hi, my name is Mrs Newby. My role is lunchtime supervisory assistant and I've worked at Lingey House since 2017. I am also an OPAL play team member, which, in my eyes, has been a great success in school. You just need to look at the change it has brought for the children. They get so excited when talking about their favourite play area and having the whole school grounds to explore, learning something new while having fun. OPAL play has been a fab addition to Lingey house and with time, can only get better. Before I joined Lingey House, I previously worked as a senior carer for 8 years. In my free time I like to read, paint and ride my bike with my husband and two sons - just loving the great outdoors!

Hi my name is Mrs Sutcliffe and I joined the Lingey House family in March 2023 when I took the opportunity to become part of our amazing OPAL play team which I love. I now enjoy 2 roles within school after moving back into the classroom as a Teaching Assistant, first in the Early Years and now within our Year 1 classes. It is a real privilege to be part of your amazing children's learning journey. I love it when I'm there for a "breakthrough moment", when you see a child realise they've cracked - there is no better feeling! Outside of school, I'm a mum to Ollie and Evalyn who are in Year 8 and Year 6 and have taught me the most important things in life. We have our furry friends Martha and Billina, the funniest and cuddliest cats ever. You will usually find us outdoors using our national trust membership (Gibside is our happy place) and at the stables where my daughter rides. We also enjoy movie nights, making pizzas and time with family. I love being in nature and out of the fast lane whenever I can. It's the simple things that bring me joy. Before joining Lingey House, I worked in Gateshead schools for 5 years. Before that I was in veterinary practice for 22 years helping to look after the North Easts pets, hand rearing orphans and bringing home waifs and strays. I've enjoyed every job I've had and hope to be working with the amazing children, staff and parents of Lingey House for many years to come. |

Most of my whole family attended Lingey House, including myself and my two sons. Now I am so privileged to be part of helping your children build up the skills that they will use for a lifetime! |
